Finished this sketch for SOBEK a week ago and today I figured I would put it up. I am pretty happy with the flow and stretch of the letters in this piece. Big up to Sobek for getting this collaboration going, I’ve been really stoked on his work lately.

Last week I had the chance to catch up with fellow artist & friend Colin Moore. We grabbed some sushi downtown during his break, he was working away on a mural in the Lulu Lemon store on Robson St. downtown. I snapped some process shots, and he just sent me the finished product. The wall turned out great, and I’m definitely feeling that fresh ocean air, how about you? More from Colin HERE.

It was only until recently when I decided to take advantage of this large wall in my work space. I pushed a few things aside, and got started. I found it really interesting to think about where I typically paint graffiti pieces, versus painting on home turf. I didn’t have to work within any time schedule or deadline, no weather constraints, or poor lighting situations. I felt like this was the perfect opportunity to really express my ideas and take an extreme attention to detail. With this piece I wanted to execute several different colour schemes within the piece, and also several different design elements and directions of movement. However, I didn’t want the piece to be too busy and out of hand, so I really put a focus on transitions. Colours schemes that flow into the next, and design elements blending with other elements near by. The piece is about 26 feet long and 17 feet high. Mediums include spray paint and latex paints. Overall I am really happy with the results! check out the full piece in my WALLS section.
